{"id":2200,"date":"2011-06-02T10:30:03","date_gmt":"2011-06-02T10:30:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sabbatical3.net\/blog\/?p=2200"},"modified":"2025-10-01T16:32:16","modified_gmt":"2025-10-01T16:32:16","slug":"leaving-for-lizard-island","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sabbatical3.net\/blog\/?p=2200","title":{"rendered":"Leaving for Lizard Island"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We will leave Cairns late in the morning (Friday) heading for Lizard Island, about 140 nautical miles to the northwest.\u00a0 It is supposed to be a beautiful place where one can actually swim without worrying too much about crocodiles.\u00a0 We have not been in the water yet this year.\u00a0 First, it has been surprisingly cold for the season &#8212;
